How to Pitch
The GDI Blog is targeted to educated, non-specialist readers interested in the data economy. We’re especially interested in new insights and critical analyses that make complex ideas understandable and that explain why something is happening.
Also be sure to include why you are the right person to be writing this piece — whether from your unique lived experience with an emerging phenomena or your subject matter expertise. Pitches should be between 100-200 words and may include relevant visual and/or multi-media materials.
Types of articles
GDI Blog Posts are between 1200-1800 words and are written by subject matter experts. Examples: Improving Health Behaviours in the Digital Era, Collecting Data for Transportation, and Safeguarding the Oceans through Data Sharing.
GDI Deep Dives are over 2000 words and provide an in-depth critical analysis of a topic by an expert in that domain. Examples: GDI Deep Read: Algorithmic Fairness, GDI Deep Read: Schrems II.
GDI Shorts are between 500-800 words and explain what you need to know about a phenomenon in or related to the data economy. Example: GDI Shorts: Maker Spaces.
